Coastal Surveillance Products
Coastal areas, unlike inland borders, are accessible by surface and air from virtually anywhere in the world. Coastal surveillance and defence is required to exclude terrorists, criminals and other undesirable arrivals from entering. Yet, providing complete and effective coastal surveillance coverage can be costly to purchase and to operate unless appropriate technology is selected.
Accipiter® Security Radar information networks include a number of mature, standard radar systems engineered and configured to meet typical requirements associated with coastal surveillance applications. Accipiter's Total Coverage™ Technology provides complete cylindrical coverage of the entire aerosphere with a beam that scans 0-360° in azimuth and 0-90° in elevation with progammable scan patterns to support surface and air surveillance. Each system includes our patented M3™ multi-radar, multi-mission, multi-user target information system featuring an open sensor and network architecture for flexibility and scalability, protecting your investment for future growth and changing requirements. A wide range of platform, transceiver, antenna and information system options allow our engineers to customize solutions to meet your particular mission and user requirements.
Accipiter® has a flexible hardware architecture based upon low-cost COTS radar transceivers and computer hardware that allows the selection of the most appropriate transceiver (solid-state or magnetron) and antenna (up to 18’) independent of the digital processing and data management components. Platform options include towers, existing structures and even aerostats when very long-range coverage is required.
The M3™ information system simultaneously supports both tactical and strategic coastal defence functions. Advanced tracking finds and locks on small, uncooperative targets that may be security threats to nations or marine traffic near the coast. Client specific, automated alerts permit users to decide what behaviour should be detected with a real-time alert to the response team, thereby reducing monitoring effort until it is needed.
A fixed coastal surveillance radar information network with Accipiter’s M3™ capabilities provides persistent surveillance and accurate information for investigations, intelligence gathering, asset allocation and search and rescue support exploiting the built-in 24/7/365 historical target data storage and target analytics. Accipiter® Security Radars use standard networks to connect and integrate large numbers of unattended radars into a wide-area surveillance network that can deliver target information to a central operations centre, various mobile units or anywhere else the information is needed. Remote-controlled operation, system monitoring and maintenance means that large numbers of widely separated radar sites can be operated with minimal personnel and travel costs.
