Understanding where wildlife is and how it interacts with the environment is essential to its management. Accipiter® Avian Radar information networks are ideal tools for automatically monitoring and recording the movements of birds and bats at remote locations, both day and night. Generator-operated systems are designed to operate unattended for several days. Accipiter's Total Coverage™ Technology provides complete cylindrical coverage of the entire aerosphere with a beam that scans with user programmable scan patterns. Accipiter's M3™ information system stores target data indefinitely and provides extensive target analytics for bird/bat activity analysis. The stored data can be retrieved at convenient intervals or transferred via a satellite network link.
Along with accurate time and location data associated with each bird or bat track, Accipiter® Avian Radars also provide information on the velocity, altitude and size of individual targets. This information, available exclusively from Accipiter® Avian Radars, is necessary to achieve the study objectives of some environmental applications.
