Accipiter® Avian Radars provide real-time information on bird activity regardless of darkness or weather. Because military airfield operations are somewhat flexible, this information allows the pilots, air operations and/or ATC to make short-term changes in flight schedules or altitudes or provide warning to pilots in response to localized hazards.
Real-time monitoring of nocturnal migration allows for safety-oriented decisions about night operations to be made on a day-to-day basis, rather than suspending night-time operations entirely during migratory season.
