Various types of birds taking flight

Nocturnal Monitoring Application

Bird activity doesn't stop at night and certainly bat activity increases, yet our capacity to detect this activity with the human eye virtually disappears. Accipiter® Avian Radar information networks detect and track birds and bats equally well at night as during the day. This makes it well suited for monitoring and recording nocturnal migrations of birds and bats, as well as the behavior of foraging bats. This capability allows biologists to collect a large data set and draw accurate conclusions about bird and bat behaviour at night.

Accipiter's Total Coverage™ Technology provides complete cylindrical coverage of the entire aerosphere with user programmable scan patterns.  Only the Accipiter® Avian Radars provide and indefinitely retain 360º information on location, altitude, heading, speed, and size of targets every couple of seconds. With this information wildlife biologists can identify the type of flying animal and determine whether they might be impacted by turbines, towers, buildings, and other tall artificial structures.
