Accipiter Security Radar- Toronto Skyline

Port Security Products

Every day, millions of tons of freight enter seaports all over the world.  These bustling gateways to our countries are vital economic engines as well as pipelines for essential imports.  Hence, the security of ports is paramount both to maintaining the safety of goods entering the nation and to ensuring protection from terrorist attacks and other criminal activity.

Radar is the sensor of choice for day/night, all-weather surveillance of uncooperative targets, but it depends upon having a line-of-sight view of the targets of interest. The large ships that regularly enter and leave busy seaports create massive obstructions that can hide small security threats.  Using the military gold-standard tracking methods for small targets, Accipiter’s® built-in M3™ multi-radar, multi-mission, multi-user information system seamlessly integrates multiple radars to fill in the shadows created by these varying obstructions, leaving no place for unwelcome intruders to hide.

The Accipiter® Security Radar product family includes a number of mature, operationally tested and deployed, standard radar systems engineered and configured to meet typical requirements associated with port security applications.  Each system includes our patented M3™ target information system featuring an open sensor and network architecture for flexibility and scalability, protecting your investment for future growth and changing requirements.  A wide range of platform, transceiver, antenna and information system options allow our engineers to customize solutions to meet your particular mission and user requirements.

Camera options use the radar’s ability to accurately locate and track targets to cue and focus day or night-vision cameras on targets of interest for identification and evidence gathering for prosecution.

The M3™ system can send target information to both operations centers and mobile responders simultaneously.  Real-time target data with automated threat alerting capability provides immediate threat awareness without requiring the constant attention of security personnel.

Ports can use the flexible programmable alerting capability to set temporary security perimeters around carriers of hazardous cargo (such as LNG) while in port, which can be removed when no longer required. The M3™ information system indefinitely stores all target movements 24/7/365, accurately tagged with time and position, which, combined with sophisticated target analytics, support intelligence and investigative analysis.
