Technical Quality Coordinator (Full Time)

Accipiter Radar provides smart surveillance and decision-support products and services that improve safety and security in the Aviation, Environmental Protection, and Homeland Security markets. We are seeking a Technical Quality Coordinator to join our growing team at our Pelham, Ontario headquarters.

Reporting day-to-day to the Director of Fulfilment, this role combines Quality Management System (QMS) ownership with hands-on technical contribution across active projects, production, inspection, testing, and validation activities. The successful candidate will serve as a key technical resource within the Fulfilment department while ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 and internal quality standards.

Position Summary

The Technical Quality Coordinator supports and continually improves the ISO 9001 Quality Management System while also contributing directly to fulfilment activities. This role bridges quality assurance, engineering support, and project coordination, ensuring that products and deliverables meet defined technical, regulatory, and customer requirements. In addition to maintaining compliance, the position actively supports inspection and test activities, software and system validation, internal projects, and product quality planning for active work orders and development programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Quality Management & Compliance

  • Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Support the internal audit program, including audit preparation, execution, documentation, and follow-up of findings.
  • Maintain QMS documentation, including procedures, work instructions, forms, records, and technical documents.
  • Manage document change control, revisions, approvals, and release in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Initiate, track, and support resolution of nonconformances and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and deliver training related to quality processes, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Track and report Quality KPIs, trends, risks, and improvement opportunities to internal stakeholders.

 

Technical & Fulfilment Support

  • Serve as a technical contributor within the Fulfilment department, supporting active customer projects, work orders, and internal initiatives.
  • Coordinate and manage internal improvement projects related to product development, quality, and process optimization.
  • Conduct inspections and testing on active work orders (incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities).
  • Support software, and system validation testing, including test execution, documentation of results, and defect tracking.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of product quality plans, inspection and test plans, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support root cause investigations related to technical, quality, or production issues and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Act as a technical liaison between Quality, Project Engineering, Production, and Field Services to ensure requirements are clearly understood and met.
  • Review and contribute to the development of technical documentation (drawings, specifications, procedures, test plans) for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.

REQUIREMENTS

 Education & Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Quality, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a quality, manufacturing, engineering support, or technical role in a regulated or ISO 9001 environment.
  • Experience in inspection, testing, validation, or technical project support is strongly preferred.
  • ASQ or equivalent certification (Quality Technician, Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement training.
  • THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST SATISFY CGP CONTROLLED GOODS AND CSP LEVEL II PERSONNEL SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and test documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with inspection, testing, verification, and validation activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and technical writing skills.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally in a small, fast-paced, engineering-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) is highly beneficial.
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential and controlled information.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a practical, execution-focused approach.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with our development team, in a technically challenging and rewarding role.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Position Summary

Software developers implement software solutions by collaborating with other developers, designers, product managers, and engineers to leverage and create new cutting-edge technologies, building upon our patented Radar Intelligence Network™ (RIN) Platform Technology. Software developers work on a variety of front-end and backend technologies that enable radar and other IoT-based data to be streamed, analyzed and visualized via our Surveillance-to-Intelligence™ (S2I) product suite.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate on system architecture and design decisions.
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability of applications.
  • Build responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Optimize frontend performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility.
  • Develop and maintain APIs and server-side logic using technologies like Go and Python.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and data validation features.
  • Design and optimize relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) databases.
  • Write efficient queries and manage data migrations.
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Monitor application health and performance; handle logging and error tracking.
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Participate in design and code reviews.
  • Work closely with designers, product managers, and other developers.
  • Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Task break down and estimation.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation for code, APIs, and system architecture.
  • Identify areas for improvement in codebase, processes, and team workflows.

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar program from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum 3 years software development experience (includes co-op experience), exhibiting a growing area of expertise.
  • Experience developing software in a team-based environment.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent programming skills in any of the following languages (or similar): Go, Python, C#, C++
  • Experience developing and deploying applications on Linux and Windows.
  • Experience with Agile methodology including best practices in software development, testing, and continuous integration.
  • A pragmatic approach to the application of technology to create business solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in both in-office and remote (work from home) environments.

Beneficial Skills & Competencies

  • Understanding of big data analytics and data warehousing concepts.
  • Knowledge of GIS, including geo-referenced data and web-based geospatial visualization
  • Familiarity with Azure or other cloud-based platforms.
